Pros

Corporate Tools has a talented, hardworking group of employees who care deeply about what they do. Day-to-day teamwork and camaraderie were strong, and colleagues consistently showed up for one another. The work itself was meaningful, and there was a genuine sense of shared purpose among teams.

Cons

The recent layoffs were handled in a way that starkly contradicted the company’s “people-first” culture. Over 100 employees were abruptly informed their positions were eliminated in a brief video call with no opportunity for questions. The call was ended suddenly — with people literally crying out for answers — and those affected were quickly disconnected from all systems. Meanwhile, most managers were hearing of the news for the first time in a meeting running simultaneously, leaving everyone confused and blindsided. This whole process went directly against most of the company’s freshly rolled-out Cultural Behaviors: “Show Respect, No Excuses. Take Full Ownership, Every Time. Create Clarity, Don’t Add Chaos.” Communication was minimal and poorly prepared. Many dedicated, long-tenured employees who had poured years into the company were blindsided. And it wasn’t only those let go who felt the impact — the emotional toll on the remaining employees has been significant. People were left shaken, grieving the loss of teammates and fearing for their own stability. Workloads increased overnight, landing on teams who were already stretched thin. The sense of psychological safety that once existed has been severely damaged.

Pros

- Interview & on-boarding process was comfortable, casual, but still professional. It wasn't intimidating but exciting to join the team. - Transparency, transparency, transparency. Can this company get a little messy? Yeah, but every company is. The others just don't show you what's going on behind closed doors. - No micro management, complete ownership over your work. - Amazing benefits. FREE medical & dental if you don't have any dependents (those would cost $$). - 401k is insane. My current dollar amount is near doubled compared to my previous job where I worked for 4 years. I have been here for 1 year. - Mix of remote and in-office employees, lots of different backgrounds, everyone is encouraged to be themselves. - Company provides COLA raises whenever possible to help us all with the cost of living. Did not ever receive that at my previous company. - Constantly encouraged to work hard BUT also have fun and take time for yourself. - INSANE PTO! It rolls over yearly and has no limits.

Cons

- This was a tiny company 5 years ago that has grown significantly. Have there been bumps in the road? For sure, but that happens anywhere, even when there is no growth. - Layoffs have been hard to watch and there are some growing pains after such a significant event happens at a company. However, seeing almost every huge company going through the same thing shows me this isn't just a Corporate Tools problem. This is an economy problem.
