Great in theory but still needs some work! - Manager Cortland Employee Review

Pros

Cortland is always trying something new and thinks outside of the box. They also give back to their associates with training and self development. They are also not afraid to spend money on company events, which is nice. The company is growing so there are some good opportunities out there but this can also crate a cut throat environment.

Cons

No work life balance. Many managers often work from home and emails are constant! Also way to many conference calls. On the local level, there is a lot of micromanagement, but upper management does not see it that way. Also, the help from the corporate office is terrible, especially accounting and the help desk. Many times it would take days or even weeks to get responses. The health insurance is not the best but they do offer free insurance for the employee.

Hello, fellow Cortlandian, and thank you for your feedback! You are right – growing this fast is no easy feat. It gets especially hard when we seek to be innovative in order to help our associates, residents, and investors get the most out of their home, careers, and investments. Just four years ago, there were only 400 of us, and today, we are 1,800 strong! Any family knows that growing this much comes with some growing pains. We appreciate your feedback and will use it as an opportunity to continue growing and striving to be our best version. In the meantime, I would love to hear your ideas! Please feel free to reach out to me anytime via phone or email at priscila.mattingly@cortlandpartners.com or 678.329.3560. #HaveTheCourageToBeBetter
