Pros

For the most part, there is a positive and fun company culture.

Cons

They pay below average for the industry. They are currently in the process of eliminating higher paid on-site positions and replacing them with lower paid "call-center" employees and consolidating on-site management to oversee 2-4 properties each.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us, which is incredibly valuable as we continually strive to improve. We take pride in what we have established at Cortland, and we’re pleased to hear that you found our culture to be positive and fun. With reference to your concerns about compensation, we do our best to ensure that pay for all associates is competitive to the market and the level of experience, but we are always open to discussing compensation with associates. Regarding the elimination of onsite positions, we have made significant changes to our approach to leasing and serving our residents by the deployment of specialized Centers of Excellence; by deploying these centralized teams, we aim to improve resident satisfaction through greater flexibility and ease in meeting their needs without them having to go into the community office. This approach enables us to be more consistent with our processes and serve applicants and residents more efficiently. If you would like to discuss any of these concerns in more detail, please feel free to reach out to Talentresources@cortland.com
