      Pros

      I was there at a time when the company was growing fast so in general, morale and day to day work life was positive. I did like and respect the two managers I had while employed at DFV Wines and the brands and projects they let me manage. My department, at the time, was an enjoyable place to work.

      Cons

      I came from one of the largest and most successful wine companies, which was extremely buttoned up and professional, and as soon as I started employment at DFV Wines, I quickly learned this organization's top management is the exact opposite of that. The sexual harassment of one particular executive (first red flag), combined with the immature and unprofessional behavior of mid to senior level management, made me quickly regret my decision to leave a top wine company for employment at DFV WInes. I stuck it out for a few years even though I was offered positions at other wine companies because I wanted to try to make it work. After I left the organization, management, culture and company morale took a nosedive. There is a strong trend of hiring new people away from other successful wine companies, only to fire them a year or so later for ridiculous, often made up, reasons. For this reason as well as many others, I would never recommend anyone work at this company.

      We are sorry you have this negative impression of Delicato. We are a successful high growth company and sometimes with change come growing pains. Our culture is changing but we believe for the better. We have surveyed our employees about our culture and are focused on increasing communication and ensuring continuous improvement in our processes and people development. What we ask is that individuals interested in Delicato provide us with the opportunity to share a balanced view of our culture and company rather than take the word of one person who had a poor experience that were are not aware of.

      I am almost 6 months into my time with Delicato and it's been amazing to be a part of this organization. From the start of the recruitment process, through onboarding, and fast forward to now - it's clear to see that leaders here care about their people.

      They have a generous employee discount.

      Cons

      Delicato runs on fear and demands conformity. Rather than admit they have no idea what they are doing in running certain "new-to-them" areas of the industry, and seek internal wisdom and counsel of those who have been for years, they choose to rely on "consultants" who have no interest beyond lining their own pockets. Management within departments is purely top-down, and any attempts to innovate or be creative are shut down. Company refuses to provide tools or solutions for people to do their actual jobs, but squash work-arounds, instead prioritizing "figure it out for yourself" as a philosophy, until you actually do.
