Pros

I was responsible of the wellbeing of the clients and the organization of trips and outdoors activities. I was responsible of dealing with stressful situation and mediations between peers in conflicts, to avoid aggression's. I was in charge of writing weekly and monthly reports about our clients and to communicate with their families to let them know the advances in each situation.

Cons

Several times my replace was delayed and I my only option was to wait until she/ him arrived because I couldn't left my area alone. Short staff during the whole season.

Pros

Working with kids and families is rewarding. Freedom to build your own approach and interventions for your sessions. Fair pay with mileage reimbursement. Not every day will look the same. Other direct support staff are great to work with. Time off is accrued generously.

Cons

Lots of travel. Inconsistent scheduling. Some days can be long. PM shift for the most part, so take advantage of your free time in the morning since you will likely be documenting late into the night. High emphasis on quantity over quality,
