Pros

Loyal customers Many customers automatically qualify for credit accounts. extensive training-good for someone who has never been in banking before. Traditional banking hours. Good amount of PTO

Cons

I personally believe CERTAIN individuals stereotype. This has been the first position I've ever been in; in my career that I do not feel welcome. I have never felt so alone. Everything is monitored. Even while in training if I ask for assistance with anything, that person will go tell someone else that I am asking for help. Then upper management in either training or retail banking will ask "you needed help with such and such? They never showed you where/how to do that? We need to make sure our management knows how to this and that. But I am only in training. Plus its never for anything major. It could be something is small as asking for a pencil...seriously. Any and everything I do, someone its compared to be a member of management, The smallest things they blow up but the good moments they do not speak on. I feel like they are looking for reason to say that I am not prepared or fit to be in management. They have never given me a fair opportunity. I feel like they treat me as if they are doing me a favor by employing me. They treat me like a child. I didn't have anyone reaching out to me. Not even my own management. I look much different than the other people who occupy the branches and are in other buildings. There is for sure a difference in treatment.

Pros

Plenty of opportunity at dollar for growing your knowledge and experience. Leadership does care about their people and there is a a fair bit of access to executive management. Benefits are pretty good with insurance, gym reimbursement, 401k match and other things.

Cons

Performance incentives are sorely lacking here. If you are a high performer, you get the same performance incentive distributed into your 401k as someone who is average. Management also has a track record of adding responsibilities but not necessarily increasing compensation. The other main item is that the majority of employees have started and stayed at dollar. Coming in externally with difference experiences can be challenging.
