EF (Education First)

Engaged Employer

EF is a positive, fast paced environment where employees are pushed hard and turn-over fast. - Tour Consultant EF (Education First) Employee Review

Pros

Fun work environment, good professional development, international travel opportunities, cool product, beautiful office, nice location, great benefits and health insurance, passionate and attractive co-workers

Cons

You’re thrown into the fire, required to wear multiple hats at once, asked to work over-time and are substantially underpaid. EF has a complicated, unclear and at times misleading compensation structure and very high turnover, especially among entry level employees. The company is completely private about profit margins to its employees. The company also has few employees of color.

Pros

You get to choose your tour and recruit the students you want to bring. The paid chaperone ratio is 6:1, so it is very manageable. The tours are great and the local experts are wonderful.

Cons

Company support is variable. There is high turnover and new consultants are very sales motivated and don't always get the nuances of your school or community group. I have had some WONDERFUL concusltants, but they have always been promoted before I get to work with them again.
