Pros

401K match and vacation amount is pretty standard. However, there are vacation blackout periods in December and May. Vision and Dental insurance are not expensive.

Cons

Department managers have zero respect for your personal life during 'buyback' season. You will be 'asked' (a.k.a. told) to travel with less than 48 hours notice because they do not plan ahead, despite having done this for 10+ years. Special treatment is provided to some people so they do not have to travel nearly as much as their peers. Employees who do not perform are not disciplined as long as they fit into the clique. However, if an employee does not fit in, he/she can be terminated on the spot. Employees are expected to work extra from home, have email on their phones, and put in overtime without compensation. Pay is entry-level, directed toward recent college grads. Even with a college degree, it will take years before your salary breaks $40K. Nearly all software used is written in-house by a group of approx. 6 people. This is a huge bottleneck and causes a backlog of issues which will never be resolved. Multiple executives are dishonest with their employees and business partners. Some actions are unethical and possibly illegal. The only offices with windows are the CEO's, CFO's, and CEO's assistant's. Cubicles have water stains and appear to be second-hand or recovered from a flooded office. Large cockroaches. Employee bathrooms worse than many gas stations.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I am very sorry to hear that you were unhappy. I ensure you that situations in the Virtual Bookstore have greatly improved. Before employees are hired, they are warned about the amount of travel during buyback season. They are giving more notice now for employees who travel and they are not gone as long at a time. All department managers have made it a priority to do annual reviews. Restrooms and building are cleaned on a regular basis and we are constantly looking for ways to improve all workplace conditions for our employees. We are competitive in our pay in all departments. Most of our employees find Ecampus a very enjoyable place to work.

Pros

The core selection of products is solid when they are actually stocked properly.

Cons

-The real issue is that people were pushed into management with no real understanding of how to lead. -Managers are making operational decisions with no prior experience training others or handling responsibility at this level, and it shows in every choice. -Decisions seem to come from guesswork or favoritism, while staff doing the actual work deal with the consequences. -The chain of command is completely unclear because directions are constantly changed or contradicted by different managers within the same day. -The entire store operates in a constant state of uncertainty since no one can trust that instructions given today will still apply tomorrow, making it extremely difficult to function effectively.
