Pros
Excellent health insurance for non-CA folks
Cons
Punitive policies are on the rise and it's negatively impacting culture. Forgot to submit your timesheet a few times? You'll lose your bonus. (Even if you're exempt and shouldn't even need to have a timesheet.) Didn't get that full 2040 hours in? You'll lose part of your bonus AND be un-promotable. We only get 5 sick days - when the industry standard is 7-10. Hope you don't get sick more than once. The PTO policy says you can take 4 weeks of PTO ... but you have to work 8.5 hours a day to make that work with the 2040 hours policy (you have to work 2040 hours in a year - which is only 1 week of PTO if you work a standard 8 hour day, hence the 8.5 hour days). Oh, and they don't recognize federal holidays - so if Bob Cratchit wants to spend Christmas with his family, he'll need to use PTO for that. You'll see a lot of comments about how smart everyone is who works at ES, and that's true. They're dedicated to the mission and are working straight from their hearts. So punitive policies don't make much sense here - and I'm not sure who's idea these things are.
