Management's dishonesty overshadows a seemingly elegant mission
Pros
The ostensible mission seemed lofty, lots of mechanisms to help employees discuss why a seemingly flat organization is actually riddled with hierarchies and old boys' club mentality
Cons
I had hoped against hope that this would be a dream job, and that is certainly how recruiters try to sell it: great mission with great people who have *great* kindergarten skills. What I found was that there was a lot of lying by the management team, lying on performance appraisals and lying about the lying. I'm not totally unsympathetic: office politics can get complicated and people want to protect their own livelihoods against external pressures. But if you are going to lie about basic terms of employment and your review process, don't slap yourself on the back about the team player that you are.
