Pros
Fully support remote work and flexible hours. Excellent mission and overall a great team of people. Decent health benefits.
Cons
Top of mind is the fairly recently announced 2040 work hours policy and the overall messaging around it. The company response to it has generally been that we are “guaranteed” 4 weeks off, which is completely disingenuous. We can all do the math so if the mandate is to work 2040 hours in a year the only way those numbers work out is if you assume a 42.5 hour work week. The standard in the US is 40, not 42.5. In addition, the company does not offer any official holidays, so that 4 weeks includes federal holidays, sick time, and vacation. This should have been clearly stated in the offer letter and wasn’t. In addition to the abysmal time off policy the company pay isn’t even close to being competitive, at least not in some parts if the organization. That might be ok for people just starting out in their careers, but it’s not if they want to attract people with more experience. Which if the company hopes to scale successfully should be considered.
