Pros

A fantastic company that teaches you professional skills, healthcare industry knowledge, and throws tons of responsibility at you early. You'll work hard but you'll learn so much in the process. Working here makes you incredible attractive to any healthcare provider, payer, or other healthcare technology firm for future opportunities. Epic's the center of the health technology universe.

Cons

Remote options and HR policies can be inflexible. It's incredibly rare they hire experienced employees outside the organization. Promotions are from within the company which can create bottlenecks in upwards movement. Pay is competitive but lower than other technology sectors based on cost of living in Wisconsin.

Pros

Impact: You are part of creating systemic level change for healthcare organizations. You get to be on site and work directly with providers and see how these changes impact their communities. People: Extremely smart and capable. I feel like I can rely on my team in a way I haven't at previous employers. New hires are entry level, so there's a strong community for people in a similar stage of life. Culture: Quirky but in a real, unique way. People are collaborative and celebrate shared accomplishments. The campus enshrines a very specific (and fun!) vibe. Location: Madison is awesome. Benefits: The health insurance is unparalleled. Sabbatical is a super cool perk too. Growth: A lot of autonomy and responsibility allows people to rise to the challenge. Stability: Solid industry, no lay-offs.

Cons

Remote work flexibility: 5 days a year
