Absolutely zero concern for the health and well-being of employees. We are living through the first pandemic of our time and generation, and as a HOSPITAL in the middle of a pandemic, if an employee of Erlanger tests positive for COVID, they CANNOT use their own sick time to cover their REQUIRED quarantine days until they are better unless they use an entire week’s worth of PTO first??!!!!?? Are you kidding me???? One of the most essential places there is in this pandemic and their own employees can’t use their sick time when they are sick with the one thing that caused an entire worldwide pandemic??!!! So use all your PTO, now you can’t take time off so you get burnt out. Use all your PTO and if you don’t have any then tough luck on getting paid for having COVID of all things! If a pandemic illness isn’t a good enough reason for employees to be able to use their sick time, then I don’t know what is. That’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard of, and frankly, what’s the point in anyone even taking precautions of COVID if they know they’re getting screwed on paying bills if they can’t even use sick time for testing positive on such a MAJOR virus? What is wrong with this picture, Erlanger????!!!! 80% of all other businesses will pay, cover, or allow employees to use sick time if they have a positive COVID test, yet a hospital whose employees put themselves at risk for COVID every day can’t use sick time if they end up getting COVID.
