Pros
I was an intern at Eversource and while I was here I was able to apply for, interview, and receive an offer for full time position before I went back for my last semester of college. I was happy to accept the job and here is why: In just three months I noticed how much the employees genuinely cared about the "public service" they were providing and wanted to do what was best for the communities they lived in. Second, even though I am relatively new, the people in my group are very nice, thoughtful and supportive. They are valuable resources and provided me with an opportunity to learn, grow, and apply my technical skills as an engineer. Lastly, the work is challenging and rewarding. Like I said, we do believe we are providing a public service and strive to keep all your electronic devices on.
Cons
I know there is a stigma with electric utilities that we put lines up where you don’t want and cut trees down along the right-of-way. I understand why this is a negative in most people’s mind but like anything, you have to have a balance and I feel Eversource is committed to providing that balance to the customers they serve.
