Pros

Honestly, I don't usually write reviews online, but thought I'd give credit where credit is due! I've been with Eversource Energy (Formerly NSTAR/NU) for over three years. These are the main things that someone thinking of joining Eversource should probably know (MONEY, PEOPLE, OPPORTUNITY): • COMPENSATION - Working in several other companies prior to Eversource, I've noticed their compensation compared to the market is very competitive, along with their generous benefits. • PEOPLE - I work 8 hours + a day, five days a week. Anyone who works fulltime in any company knows their bound to see their co-workers in the office more than most of their friends and family. But when you work in an inclusive and diverse atmosphere like Eversource, it makes work feel..... less like work. Their are alot of smart professionals that are willing to help each other succeed, and is probably one of my top kudos! • OPPORTUNITY - I'm still in my 20's, so being in the earlier stage of my career, I feel opportunity for growth within the company is probably the #1 most important factor for someone like me. Since being here, I've gotten promoted, worked in three different departments, receiving he experience and opportunity that is invaluable to me personally.

Cons

To make sure everyone gets a clear picture of the company, here are the cons I've notice since working here: • CT/MA/NH – Unfortunately since I live in Rhode Island, the commute is a little longer than desired, but still manageable. Takes me about 45 minutes, which isn’t too bad. Any who lives in these three states shouldn’t have a problem though. And hopefully they’ll merge with National Grid in RI one day. (fingers crossed)

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Normal vacation. Interesting job, meaning it’ll keep you mind sharp.

Cons

There are no goals or expectations set that allows you to prove you’re ready for growth. The only way to advance your career is to be one of the cool guys OR work 16 hours a day and weekends. Bonuses and merit increase is the same across the board no matter how much extra you do. The work force is too small for customer/management and the expectations are set too high. There are not enough vehicles for the work force and often times trainees have no way of getting to the job site. We would run out of stock items (cable, wire, connections, transformer, safety gear) that are necessary to keep the power on. Our best coworkers have left for biggest competitor…me too.
