Pros

I've worked for the company for over 20 years and have found it to be rewarding and extremely fulfilling. It's not often you hear of someone staying with one company for this length of time, but the reasons I stay include the company's proven success, strong leadership, focus on customers, a keen eye toward performance and results. In addition, my colleagues are hard working and possess excellent work ethics and expertise.

Cons

Given the frequency and extent of bad weather in recent years, it can be challenging working for a company whose customers have very high expectations related to service interruptions due to storms. Because the company puts an all-out effort into restoration during storms working late nights, weekends and holidays can be expected. That said, it's nice to be part of a working collaborative that shines, especially during storms. And, it's during storms when the company truly demonstrates its commitment to customers.

Pros

Good pay and benefits. Normal vacation. Interesting job, meaning it’ll keep you mind sharp.

Cons

There are no goals or expectations set that allows you to prove you’re ready for growth. The only way to advance your career is to be one of the cool guys OR work 16 hours a day and weekends. Bonuses and merit increase is the same across the board no matter how much extra you do. The work force is too small for customer/management and the expectations are set too high. There are not enough vehicles for the work force and often times trainees have no way of getting to the job site. We would run out of stock items (cable, wire, connections, transformer, safety gear) that are necessary to keep the power on. Our best coworkers have left for biggest competitor…me too.
