Flexibility is really the only reason.
Cons
Poor management - lack of leadership, etc. Somethings are just too good to be true and the agency opportunity seems to be one of them. Most agents who are able to hit the 100k mark after 3 years or so end up spending most of that money back on overhead - think about how much it costs to hire a support staff person, lease an office, pay for advertising, supplies, postage, etc...100k doesn't go very far! The upside is that if you get in good with the company, you could end up getting large chunks of other agencies given to you which helps tremendously!
