It's a sales job - Assistant Branch Manager First National Bank Texas Employee Review

Pros

Healthcare benefits are ok to decent

Cons

This is nothing but a professional sales job. The "mangement" position is an hourly wage. Executives "dress it up" as a management leadership position which it is not. You are given an unofficial personal sales goal and are held accountable for all the employees sales goals and sales productivity in your branch. As a bank, the customers are wide ranging. It is a last resort bank for many customers. The bank requires no deposit to open an account. The result is large percentages of accounts closed for being overdrawn. Employees burn out trying to continuously sell accounts leading to a high personnel turnover rate. Incentives to employees for sales are treated like bonuses and are taxed at 30%.

Pros

Everyone is super nice! This is a great place to work! I learned a lot from this program. Onboarding was a very easy process. I was exposed to many branches of the company and given hands-on access to active projects and operations.

Cons

It's difficult to get an internship here. They don't really seem to have a standardized internship pipeline. You kind of need to know someone.
