Weekly pay, boring work - Customer Service Representative Five Star Call Centers Employee Review

Pros

Pay is weekly. They'll hire pretty much anyone, which is a bonus when you're desperate in this job market. Remote work.

Cons

Submitting this review a few weeks after I started to remain anonymous. I've only been in training so far and haven't gotten on phones, but I don't see how three days of training can adequately prepare anyone for this job, especially when most of the time is spent on technical issues or reminding employees to turn their cameras on. This training could be condensed into 1 day for most employees if employees were allowed to move at their own pace. I have never wanted to quit a job within the first 24 hours so badly. I was bored to literal tears at one point. The trainer read the module slides directly with no additional information, making the training feel even more pointless. Honestly, a self-guided training module with knowledge assessments after every lesson would be more cost effective and efficient for most of us. I feel like my intelligence is insulted more with every minute spent waiting on someone to get their tech issues together or figure out what the password they JUST reset is. Also, I am given shifts outside the hours I said I am unable to work, so I doubt I'll be sticking around.

Thank you for your feedback which will be pass along to the training department. We do train in a classroom capacity and do more self-guided work after you start. You should not be scheduled outside of the availability you signed upon starting. Please reach out to your manager so that can be looked into or reach out to hiring@fivestarcallcenters.com so we can look into this for you.

Pros

Work/life balance is consistent. PTO is quickly accrued (per hour accumulation), 401K is competitively invested, Insurance options available. Team Leads, Supervisors and Managers are very supportive and training is paid for. Occasional contests, spiffs and fun stuff for the teams.

Cons

Audits weekly (although there is a wide margin of learning opportunity. They understand you have to get with the flow). 3 weeks minimum needed to request PTO, (we get our schedules about 3 weeks in advance, so makes sense).

Pros

Remote is the only pro two of my managers were great but the last one I had was not.

Cons

Management was very unprofessional at my last month there. There was no room to grow or move up and no pay raises as they moved you from account to account. I did ask my manager how i could improve my raises and the only response was post more in teams chat. - NO room for growth very little pay for what you do. The third issue would be my last manager at the end. She first stated she was just out of training to be a manager when she in fact was not out of training to which she confessed and probably forgot at the end of my time here. The fourth would be that holidays you have to use your PTO.
