Pros

Job security Decent pay Work is easy once you learn the ins and outs Scott Glaze cares about his employees Covid was handled well

Cons

I find it impossible to work up the ladder. I have a technical bachelors degree and have been stuck on the production floor for 5 years. Everything is seniority based so be ready to put your time in (this is mostly a good thing). I feel that there is a lot of toxic management and people who do not want you to advance in the company.

Thank you for your years of service at Fort Wayne Metals! We agree, our Leadership team handled Covid very well and made decisions that helped us through a difficult season. Our Talent Development team works with our employees on individual development plans. Sometimes employees may not know what they want to do or how to get there, other times they have a clear vision but need support. Our Talent Development team, the employee’s leader, and the employee can work together to create a roadmap that will point them in the right direction. This process is employee-driven, but the organization will always support development.

Pros

Fun work, meaningful products created. Really nice events put on for employees.

Cons

Impossible to move up if you aren't friends with the hiring manager in most departments. If you don't have at least a bachelors degree, you mean nothing and will never be valued as more than a production worker regardless of your skill and accomplishments.
