Pros

Solid family oriented company. No layoffs during the recession. Made friends that will last a lifetime. In the business of saving lives.

Cons

Benefits we bare minimum. Pay for degreed employees was the same or barely over production rate. No opportunity for advancement unless you're either related to someone high up, or in with the group of people that are. Saying within the company "We're successful in spite of ourselves."

Family oriented business. Local company who has never had a layoff since its inception in 1970. Tuition reimbursement program.

Cons

Too much nepotism. Growth opportunities are limited unless you are a family member of executive staff. Compensation is below average for the industry in which they operate.

Ok place to work, need more $ to be competitive

Pros

Can be a positive place to work if you can get a leg up somehow. The pay isn't great but it's a lot better than retail or some other entry level work.

Cons

Nepotism is hard to get around. There are road blocks that prevent promotions and it's really all about WHO you know. You can be stuck working an off shift for a long time before you gain enough seniority for 1st shift.
