Pros

You’ll meet amazing colleagues here, for the most part. Start with 22 days of PTO.

Cons

The endless overtime is NOT a perk because it is expected of you to work yourself to the bone in order to make a barely livable wage. People have literally collapsed from exhaustion in office and the managing partner barely bat an eye as he walked past. This place does not respect your personal boundaries nor physical/mental health. Management will pressure you to work until you have mental breakdowns and refuse to accommodate when you attempt to draw boundaries or have personal crises. They expect this job to be your entire life. New attorneys and management that are hired are generally unaffable. (Some can be kind, but that is far and few in between.) The culture that is cultivated does not encourage open communication between case processors and management because case processors are too afraid to voice their mistakes/concerns. Thusly, there is a lack of growth in terms of soft skills and career mobility here. The "training" is also laughable, as they simply toss you to the sharks. This firm has a strong "sink or swim" attitude, with outstanding work barely recognized, and harsh punishments for slight mistakes. To prospective applicants: run. This firm will chew you up and spit you out without a second thought, destroying every aspect of your health in the process. Not worth it.

Pros

Decent overtime pay. I also had a decent training/onboarding experience, but this was not the norm.

Cons

Exploitative, 80+ hour work weeks, 2am messages from attorneys, burn-out model for paralegals and associates (scoop them up after BA or JD and overwork them until they quit), misrepresent case load during interview by 50% of total, low ceiling for non-attorney career advancement. Have an exit plan.
