Pros
- very kind co-workers who are always willing to lend a hand - everyone there loves kids and will do anything to help them - most classroom spaces are recently renovated - decent cafeteria food - free parking
Cons
- HORRIBLY understaffed to the point of being INCREDIBLY unsafe; left me wondering what DESE would think if they came in and did a random inspection - training for the job is minimal and you're more or less thrown into the the first day not knowing what to expect or what your responsibilities are - training for the job is also not delivered in a timely manner - multiple high priority trainings (lifts, bathroom care, feeding, deescalation/restraints, etc) weren't delivered until days or sometimes weeks after the school year began - every single employee is overworked and stressed out - it wasn't unusual to see multiple people crying in one day and I don't think the administration is even aware of how burnt out everyone is - extremely high staff turnover rate - I saw multiple people leave in the middle of the school year and some didn't even have jobs lined up but they wanted to leave that badly - most members of the administration have been there an incredibly long time and while having years of experience is usually a good thing, it seems they're incredibly rigid and totally unwilling to try new things - there is no set time for educator cohort collaboration meaning that it is up to you to find time outside of regular school hours to seek help from peers
