Pros
Very secure position, low pressure. People often don't get disciplined for poor performance or behavior which can be a positive or negative depending on how you look at it.
Cons
Everything is very silohed and groups can be pretty disorganized/ not communicate well with one another. Because of lack of disciplinary action, workplace culture is loose and can often be very distracting. They focus on metrics like hours of overtime worked and years of time at the company much higher than efficiency because they don't really have a good pulse on what is getting done by individuals.
