Pros

High turnover rate lends opportunity to change roles.

Cons

It's an old boys club with a group of Indian men who invent new management positions to bring their buddies over to live in the US. In US conference rooms, they will switch to non-English to exclude team members from participating in discussions. It creates a very hostile environment, especially in the NYC office. -Shady RFP responses, if clients were to dig deeper, they would find dishonesty ripe throughout the organization -Claim to promote women in their workforce but only make meaningful changes in Indian operations. The same old boy's club that has full control of upper management has not adapted to US professional environments, meaning they do not embrace gender equality or diversity, despite an abundance of hashtags and LinkedIn articles about it -Openly discriminate against pregnant women. In my time here, I've seen 3 expecting mothers pushed out with management openly discussing why pregnancy is bad. As a father myself, this is disgusting. -Constant reassignment in the sales coverage, hire people for one job, switch it 6 months later.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time to write this detailed feedback and advice. One of the benefits of social media is that it allows people to transparently provide feedback, often the feedback is positive and encourages us but sometimes it can be negative and make one introspect. Over the last few years, Genpact has made significant changes to its structure and strategy to be closer to where our clients are in order to serve them better. We wanted our key leaders to be in the "center of gravity" as far as business is concerned and that has involved moving senior management to the US and the UK. We are delighted by the camaraderie and bonds of friendship between employees and it is unfortunate that you have felt excluded because of that. We wish you had raised this while you were with us so we could have taken appropriate measures. We have noted your feedback on “non-English” and while we assure you that this is not intentional, it is possible that people inadvertently switch to their mother tongue from time to time. On your point about dishonesty in the organization, this is serious and we request you to contact us with specifics so we can take necessary action. Integrity and following the letter of the law is of utmost importance to us. And finally on your perception on gender diversity being restricted to hashtags and articles only, truth is we are more committed to this cause than we give ourselves credit for. Consider some of these facts; we now have 3 women directors on our Board; 33% of all promotions in the US last year were women; we rolled out parental leave in the US which gives new parents 6 weeks of paid time off to spend with their families, we also have an adoption assistance program that offers all US employees reimbursement of adoption expenses; our Career 2.0 program, which targets experienced women on sabbatical and career break, has met with tremendous success in the US by way of hundreds of applications, several hires, and most of all, hugely positive feedback. Besides structured mentoring programs, regular networking sessions are organized for women across the globe. We could go on and on but hopefully you get the drift. Again, that is not to say that there is no room for improvement because after all, this is a journey and we won’t achieve success in one go. If you could contact us with specific instances, we will work towards ensuring they are corrected and not repeated. We look forward to connecting with you and our best wishes are with you for your professional success.
