Pros

Hmmm. It looks good on a resume.

Cons

This company has no soul. The employee overturn is ridiculously high. Management enforces policies only if it suits them. Some of the mental health clinicians and chemical dependency counselors need mental help themselves. I wouldn't send my family here. Enough said. There are different rules for long term employees and theiy yield unwieldy power with their malicious gossip. They hire totally inexperienced managers to run whole chemical dependency and mental health departments. Grandiose and egotistical misfits who live off the reputation of their famous relatives and are only there because they have social connections to raise money. This is a recovery center for the privileged and instead of actually helping them they allow them to continue without challenging their behaviors. Hazelden like every other employer struggles with retaining high quality emotionally balanced employees. It is a snake pit working there. The real talent simply uses this organization as a line item on their resume.

Pros

The teamwork between nurses is great.

Cons

The nurses at Center City are on strike if that says anything about the business. The relationship between nurses and counselors is very strained. Also unsafe working environments due to patients getting in fights or bringing in contraband and not getting discharged. They need more mental health workers, but they are on a hiring freeze for that right now and it is absolutely killing us. The business only cares about money and it is very obvious. Many patients are racist towards others and nothing comes of that either.
