Pros

Managers gave us lunch and freedom to work without constant micro managing.

Cons

The Hyatt in the Fort Worth stockyards is quite possibly the worst place I've ever worked. Managers were never actually around when needed. A lot of work for an inadequate amount of pay. I worked 40 hours every week and even overnights. My hourly rate never got changed to the night audit amount even though I worked there for three months. As a gallery host I worked the front desk, kitchen, and bar. And still got paid less than $10 an hour. Management clearly had favorites. Most of the girls that I worked with were just older than 18.

Pros

The comp night offerings were great and compensation was fair. If you meet quota you get a bonus

Cons

This likely varies between properties depending on hotel management. Everyone in the events and sales departments are overworked, so employee turnover is high, which just compounds the issue. Management has difficulty accepting feedback from employees and often promotes the yes-men. No PTO in the first year leads to quick burnout
