Pros

You get to work with clothes.

Cons

The enviorment is so toxic. It's a constant uphill battle. The people in corporate have no idea what is going on in the stores. There is a system where you send out your clothing from online orders and never get in back in stock and then wonder why you're never selling any clothes in the store. They send you a ridiculous amount of media that you end up throwing away "great for the enviorment JCREW". You never have the opportunity to move up-- they basically want you to not have a family life in order to do so. I would suggest only working at j.crew for fun. Even then don't expect to make any money because they don't give any part time employees any hours. They just expect their managers to work (which is about 3) good luck trying to juggle your customers!

Pros

There are a lot of talented, hardworking people at this company, which makes recent leadership decisions even more frustrating.

Cons

Communication around major organizational changes has been vague and inconsistent, leaving employees with significant uncertainty and little confidence in the direction of the business. Morale has declined considerably. Many employees feel that years of experience, performance, and institutional knowledge are being undervalued in favor of rigid policies and top-down decision making.
