Pros

Fun environment, not stressful, great discount... 30% off regular price, 50% off sale items and 60% off select items. Part time employees are eligible for health insurance, as low as $9 a week. And you get paid every week.

Cons

Sometimes JCrew customers have unreasonable expectations and we have to acquiesce regardless. The pay is low and you end up spending your check on their clothes because of the great discount. The commission is only .5% and if you don't make a certain amount of sales (selling cost) they will cut your pay. The personal shoppers cut in on your customers and take your sales, so it's hard to make your "selling cost".

Pros

Good time-off package. Holiday week off for office employees. Historically respected work-life balance and flexible working. Good employee discount and maternity leave.

Cons

C-suite pushing a mandatory 3 days in-office after 5+ years of boasting flexibility as a cornerstone of their employee benefits package. Lack of clear and thoughtful communication of this new policy was frustrating and disheartening as an employee. Leadership, starting with the CEO, is at an all-time low of the last 6 years of working in their corporate office. Horrifying to see how poorly initiatives are getting rolled out, likely getting pushed down from board of directors. Would anticipate a rough transition into the company if you choose to take a role replacing the dozens of employees possibly being forced to leave the company due to RTO.
