Pros

Working at j crew can be great. They have very particular rules of what you can or can't wear. Depending on who your manager is can vary how far you can push the dress code. The environment is clean and orderly Superlatives rating from $15-$50 can be won if you sell the most each shift.

Cons

They started giving more superlatives since they stopped paying their employees commission. J. Crew employees receive no commission as of Feb 2022. J.Crew is pushing for Employees to use Mobile POS systems, which are just terrible and inconvenient for customers.

Pros

Good time-off package. Holiday week off for office employees. Historically respected work-life balance and flexible working. Good employee discount and maternity leave.

Cons

C-suite pushing a mandatory 3 days in-office after 5+ years of boasting flexibility as a cornerstone of their employee benefits package. Lack of clear and thoughtful communication of this new policy was frustrating and disheartening as an employee. Leadership, starting with the CEO, is at an all-time low of the last 6 years of working in their corporate office. Horrifying to see how poorly initiatives are getting rolled out, likely getting pushed down from board of directors. Would anticipate a rough transition into the company if you choose to take a role replacing the dozens of employees possibly being forced to leave the company due to RTO.
