Pros
Administrators who care about the kids, a vast majority of teachers are dedicated professionals with many passion for their subject, the overall vibe of the school is positive.
Cons
High teacher turnover in the last three years and poor teacher attendance in 2017-2018--both signs of low morale and discontent. Classroom sizes for core subjects are higher than ever before. PD days, which can vary from beneficial to downright dreadful, are increasingly repetitive and dull, with most teachers just going through the motions, wishing we could use the time to catch up on our grading so we could go to bed at a decent hour for once. (Would we even need so much "professional development" if we weren't sleep-deprived and time poor? Probably not.) Also: the librarian seems dedicated to creating obstacles to service and keeping that door closed to any and all patrons. We think of the library as her private office and don't bother knocking. (She keeps the door locked anyway!)
