Life's Too Short to Work for Them - Anonymous employee Jefferson Parish Public School System Employee Review

The "proration" they do on salaries for teachers who start mid-year is a sick joke (b/c of it I made $800 a paycheck for a semester of working a ridiculously high-stress job - seriously, how is anyone in the NOLA area supposed to live off that?) I was flat out lied to about when my insurance coverage ended after I resigned (costing me about $1000 based on what I paid in unnecessary insurance for those two months and having to repay the tax credit from the marketplace for those 2 months). The schools are in deplorable condition. You get no support. You will not be treated like a human being.
