If you're looking for the work/life balance, you won't find it here, if you're good at your job, they will use you and use you until you're too exhausted to continue, higher ups will remind you that you're replaceable, that you're just a number among many, they treat younger associates like they're nuisances even though they are the reason ANY journeys is making money nowadays. I've gone through several waves of full staff because store managers can't stop berating associates to tears and treating them like nothing, the absolute lack of humanity across management is DISGUSTING, I've had to console associates, have then sobbing in stock rooms because of how they're being spoken to, no job should make anyone feel like nothing, and journeys does.
I mean this with my full chest, journeys is one step away from being a cult, you are yelled at to make the "perfect sale" every single time, even when it's nearing Christmas and all customers need something from you. Customers are creeped out when every salesperson is coming up to them, getting in their bubble while trying to make some fake conversation to make a sale.
You are required to deny your humanity and personality to work here, and it's not worth it, I've been told I have to "drink the kool-aid" in order to truly enjoy this job, and I simply refuse to.
