Pros

Discount is great and Dress code is laid back. You can advance within the company as they do most of their hiring from within. They have a lot of good people working for them my District manager Mike Brooks was one of the best in the company and really cares about his people.

Cons

Although this is a Billion dollar company they do not pay overtime so your 60+ hour work weeks are only compensated with the little extra you make in commission... "If you are a employee and reading this if you make overtime you are not being paid enough wait until you're in a higher volume store". With all the hours you will be working you will lose time with your family and friends which is something you will never get back. No matter how much you do for this company or how hard you work at the end of the day you are still just a number to them and they will not back you if it comes down to it. I gave this company almost 10 years of my life, made them millions of dollars and increased sales in every store I stepped foot in all while being the only manager in either of my districts to promote out any store managers. Do not make the same mistake I made and give your life to this company they will use you up and spit you out.

Pros

Discount is 40 percent. Guaranteed 40 hours min. Meeting great co workers and customers. That is really about it.

Cons

I worked way over 40 hours a week. Almost 60! I constantly felt overworked and underpaid. Co managers basically makes 400-450 a week while working 9 10 11 hour shifts and 6 work days. Co managers set pay is for 40 hours and they pay overtime hours by only giving half. My job consist of doing everything and yet selling ALL DAY. I always stayed late or came in early to complete selling goals and finish managerial duties. I had no life balance to do ANYTHING and didn't get much sleep. Not only did I have the high sales goals to accomplish but also hit certain numbers in categories. Yes the managers have to sell more than the associates. Way more, which I found odd. Retail is retail but this was way too much for me. I knew my life would be much better after leaving this company. With over 7 years in retail and my degree, I knew I deserved better. But hey that was just my experience.

Pros

40% discount, thats the only pro.

Cons

-Managers are horribly mean and look down on part-timers. -Favoritism is strongly played here. -Good luck getting a requested day off approved. -Limited discount. -Direct family of part-timer arent allowed to use discount. -Low pay for amount of work expected. -Competitive selling. -Managers abuse authority, especially to steal your sales. -Managers dont care about part-timers at all. -They will write you up for not selling enough socks. -Managers get mad at new part-timers for asking questions 3 days after their first day. -Expectations are ridiculous. -They make you push 4 pairs of shoes on each customer and you get in trouble if you stop trying after hearing 5 "no"s. -Management has single-handedly put me in danger. -They shrug off work-related accidents or injuries, then get mad if you cant come in to work the next day following an incident. -Management breaking the policies for each other. -Lieing to customers. -Sales goals are sometimes impossible to meet. -Management shares confidential information of absent employees to other employees. -Management can be overheard speaking badly of part-timers.
