Pros

Nothing, this was the worst job I have ever had.

Cons

They lied about the pay, told me I would be getting up to $2,700 a week when I was barely hitting $500 as a store manager. I was put in a store completely by myself after 4 days of training with little to no support and training from upper management. I was expected to manage a team when I didn’t even know the procedures and processes for pretty much everything, my associates and leads how to show me how to do almost everything. I was expected to clock out and continue working multiple times and would get in trouble if I went over the weekly hours for my store because I didn’t clock out and work. I worked 2 weeks straight with no days off and no support, working 8-12 hour shifts with no breaks, not even allowed to use the restroom without fear of being fired. We weren’t even allowed to sit without the threat of being fired from our district manager. Upper management would talk about the employees behind their backs and try to scheme ways to fire people and would lie about personal relationships to corporate so they could have their partner work for the company in upper management.

Pros

- Diversity & inclusion throughout employees - No dress code (other than inappropriate clothing obviously and occasional Journeys t-shirts during holidays) - Paid training - Flexible schedule (at least at my store)

Cons

- Horrible corporate mentality - Only the sales leads and above work on commission even though every employee has to HARD sell - Sales goals that are unrealistic and based off of the previous year's numbers - Little to no benefit for reaching or surpassing the ridiculous sales goals - District managers and corporate employees who say you're not good at your job unless you practically beg customers to buy socks and multiple pairs of shoes even if they came in knowing exactly what they want (to the point of annoying the customer) - Verbal, then write up, then immediate termination if you don't meet or surpass EVERY single category in your MPR (monthly progress report) - District managers who demote the best managers and transfer people to other stores with no say in the matter, as well as letting certain bad managers get away with things without reporting it - lowwwww pay for what is expected of the employee
