Pros

You get a 40% discount and manager tries to make hours flexible for employees. Fun work environment.

Cons

I worked for Journeys for 2 years and.. They over work their employees. Expect too much form employees They give you hours depending on your sales performance, and yes thats fair, but in low seasons when all you have is one or two customers walking into the store , meeting sales goals seems impossible. Then you end up with short hours because you dint meet your goal for the week or month. I worked for Journeys for 2 years and every time they would over work me. I was always responsible and always available, but when season got low and my sales got low too, they decided to undepromote me to a "seasonal job". Therefore basically firing me. They also dint even formally told me, you just expect it because they cut all your hours until you start asking questions. So much work and dedication put into this company for no reward, just a normal pay. If you can get another place to work I strongly recommend it. If not, consider journeys as a temporary job, not a long term job. They will kick you out once they're done with you.

Pros

- Diversity & inclusion throughout employees - No dress code (other than inappropriate clothing obviously and occasional Journeys t-shirts during holidays) - Paid training - Flexible schedule (at least at my store)

Cons

- Horrible corporate mentality - Only the sales leads and above work on commission even though every employee has to HARD sell - Sales goals that are unrealistic and based off of the previous year's numbers - Little to no benefit for reaching or surpassing the ridiculous sales goals - District managers and corporate employees who say you're not good at your job unless you practically beg customers to buy socks and multiple pairs of shoes even if they came in knowing exactly what they want (to the point of annoying the customer) - Verbal, then write up, then immediate termination if you don't meet or surpass EVERY single category in your MPR (monthly progress report) - District managers who demote the best managers and transfer people to other stores with no say in the matter, as well as letting certain bad managers get away with things without reporting it - lowwwww pay for what is expected of the employee
