Pros
Decent pay and benifits, always an opportunity to advance with hardwork, dedication, and ability. If you have a passion for skate/style based shoes and apparel it's a great job. Great discout, and you encouraged to make employee purchases, they want you exemplify and know everything that is the "journeys" style.
Cons
Depending on your store and postion there, the hours can be long and monotonous. The employee sales standards can be very challenging, different stores or rather locations and demographics really determines what standards will be challenging. The location I worked at had a difficult time meeting the sock sale percentage, however we were excellent at the accessory requirement. Upper management seems disconected from frontline sales at certain stores, as if they had favorites, mainly high volume/profit stores. If you happened to work a smaller location, which I happened to, it felt like you where irrelevant or a lesser priority, but still pressured to hit the same sales quota.
