Pros

The actual employees i worked with were amazing and everyone was super understanding because of the company’s extremely high standards

Cons

-company does not care about employees and treat them as completely disposable. They frequently tell managers to lay off employees who don’t meet their ridiculously high sales goals and also attempt to fire people over personal issues with higher ups. - 11.85$/hr pay -expected to bring out 4 shoes, 3 socks, and 2 other products everytime someone asking for 1 shoe. -my managers quit because of the toxicity, leading to the district manager coming in with another higher up. I was 16 at the time and left by myself in the store for multiple hours, and multiple shifts. they would also leave for over a hour to go get food or a drink. - make people do 20x the work after putting 2 weeks in -would get yelled at for over a hour for simple mistakes (this was my first job) -had to stand outside of the store and greet people walking by for hours simply because the mall was dead and we had to prove to the district manager we were trying to make sales. -extremely competitive between employees because of the unrealistic sales goals and backlash from not reaching the goal.

Pros

- Diversity & inclusion throughout employees - No dress code (other than inappropriate clothing obviously and occasional Journeys t-shirts during holidays) - Paid training - Flexible schedule (at least at my store)

Cons

- Horrible corporate mentality - Only the sales leads and above work on commission even though every employee has to HARD sell - Sales goals that are unrealistic and based off of the previous year's numbers - Little to no benefit for reaching or surpassing the ridiculous sales goals - District managers and corporate employees who say you're not good at your job unless you practically beg customers to buy socks and multiple pairs of shoes even if they came in knowing exactly what they want (to the point of annoying the customer) - Verbal, then write up, then immediate termination if you don't meet or surpass EVERY single category in your MPR (monthly progress report) - District managers who demote the best managers and transfer people to other stores with no say in the matter, as well as letting certain bad managers get away with things without reporting it - lowwwww pay for what is expected of the employee
