Pros

Health Benefits are solid. There were some travel opportunities that I’m very grateful for. Offices are clean and nice for the most part.

Cons

There was so much potential for the Fort Mill shop when I joined, so I’m disappointed in how everything turned out. I can’t speak for the whole office, but turnover appears generally high across the board. The Index teams are worked to a point of absurdity that almost can’t be exaggerated. It’s not unusual to show up to work at 8am and have to stay until 2am. Been there, did it, have the t-shirt. No overtime pay, dinner isn’t usually expensed, and there’s no telling when you’ll leave. This lack of a work/life balance would almost make sense if you’re making money, but these insane hours were expected of the Index teams on a laughable salary. My team started with nine people, seven quit within the year. Everyone was miserable, but they’ve all leveraged the experience to move on to other solid, career-building positions in finance at banks and firms that actually value their employees. Most people don’t last a year here, not because they can’t hack it, but because they aren’t idiots. The one golden nugget in this whole debacle is that LSEG has some brand recognition and the experience is valuable...so everyone leverages both to get on with the real financial institutions in Charlotte (five minutes down the road) that are literally doubling the salaries offered at LSEG in Fort Mill. They are simply training the next crop of associates for the big institutions itching to hire the next kid who knows how to process a reverse stock split and knows how to do a basic V-Lookup. The entry-level positions at LSEG typically pay 10-20k less than entry level level positions in Charlotte. Let’s be honest. 😂 With that said...I’m grateful for the experience, because without it I wouldn’t be where I am. I’d recommend this company if you desperately need experience in financial services, are single with no family responsibilities, are willing to unnecessarily grind to the death, and have low financial expectations.
