Pros

Committed teams that care for our patients. These nurses and ancillary staff that take care of our patients do an amazing job of getting our patients well and on their way home where they can continue to recover. Great team environment. Sense of autonomy. Supportive administration that encourage improvement. Flexible schedule so you can work around family arrangements. Decent benefits. Salary is fair. If you have an idea that may improve costs, or patient care, management has been very supportive in seeing that your idea gets looked into.

Cons

Legacy doesn’t recognize an employee who goes above and beyond their work duties. I have co-workers who come and do the bare minimum and get the same pay as everyone else when others put in 150%. There is no incentive to do your utmost best. I still get paid for the number of years I have worked for Legacy and the total number of years I have been an RN regardless of how I perform. Pay practices are not very competitive with the local area. Poor communication system wide. Especially for the front line staff who report problems such as an issue with our electronic medical record or an enhancement request. There is never any feedback to the staff if IS is looking into the issue or not, or if the issue gets fixed – No communication at all. Limited parking space for employees at almost every hospital and if you work at the System Office, you now have to pay for parking in the Legacy parking as well as street parking. HR could really use a shakeup. Many times HR does not acknowledge an applicant after applying for a job and they do not take the time to let the applicant know if they are not chosen for the job – they just leave them hanging there. One area in particular, the training center is full of nepotism. Unfortunately, when combined with the lack of holding an individual accountable for their actions there is a gross amount of Legacy’s time, money and resources lost.

Pros

Not much to say anymore.

Cons

My first couple years here, I used to like this place but it's really going downhill fast. They are in the hole financially but instead of cutting pay for the millionaire executives (at a non-profit?!), they are now going to force people to use 2 weeks of leave at Christmas. And if someone doesn't have enough leave, they will be required to take unpaid. This is a "legal" loophole that should be illegal. They also don't believe in merit raises, instead giving a 2% across the board raise regardless of whether the person earns it. Some people work hard, while others barely work, and we all get the same 2% "raise"? This ship is sinking, so get out while you can and avoid at all costs.
