Pros

Legend Senior Living provides each community, and associate, with a well thought out process and tool for each job. As an associate you do not have to "recreate the wheel" or piece together a process. Legend Senior Living has a fantastic program for associates and residents alike. Legend Senior Living demonstrates honest and sincere concern and compassion for residents and associates. Being a part of Legend Senior Living "just feels right"! The focus on training and appreciation of associates is commendable in an industry as demanding as Assisted Living. As an associate, you can obtain a plethora of portable skills simply by taking advantage of the training opportunities. The training is easily accessible both in person and online. Legend Senior Living is a stable company with continual growth and improvement.

Cons

Assisted Living is an industry that demands your commitment 24 hours a day/7 days a week, but can be rewarding in each of those long hours.

Pros

The residents are the pros. I enjoy taking care of them and making them happy.

Cons

Expecting a 5 star hospitality experience with instantaneous response times for every resident. Management does not help when there are staffing shortages. They won’t help answer call bells or assist in the kitchen. Legend wants to run the shift with the bare minimums for staff to resident ratios. Having to be an aide changing soiled briefs to then passing meals in the dining room is insanitary. They want you to do extra work but don’t want to pay overtime. Your shift is for 8 hours minus 30 minutes for an unpaid meal break that you must take. So you never get a 40 hour work week pay, only 37.5.
