Caring residents overshadowed by management's staffing issues

The residents are the pros. I enjoy taking care of them and making them happy.

Cons

Expecting a 5 star hospitality experience with instantaneous response times for every resident. Management does not help when there are staffing shortages. They won’t help answer call bells or assist in the kitchen. Legend wants to run the shift with the bare minimums for staff to resident ratios. Having to be an aide changing soiled briefs to then passing meals in the dining room is insanitary. They want you to do extra work but don’t want to pay overtime. Your shift is for 8 hours minus 30 minutes for an unpaid meal break that you must take. So you never get a 40 hour work week pay, only 37.5.

Liked taking care of the residents.

Cons

Micromanaging staff. Unable to get work completed during shifts. Nothing is ever good enough. Asked to do more and more everyday. Not enough staff. Call offs all the time. Not staffed accordingly to meet the demands of an elderly population.
