Think twice before accepting Sales Director role - Sales Director Legend Senior Living Employee Review

Pros

Residents and their families. Good hiring of caregivers. Structure and process to follow for compliance.

Cons

Sales Directors don’t actually direct anything. They are micromanaged completely, with zero support staff. You will be the only one responsible for driving multimillion dollar revenue for the facility, while also having to handle support staff duties like move-in coordinator, business development, and community relations rep hats. You will be held to standards for a sales director in quantifiable metrics of sales activities without any acknowledgment that you will also be community relations rep and the single point of contact for new move-ins. New move-ins families need you to hold their hand through the process and you will chase medical records, ID cards, insurance cards, POA documents and all supplemental paperwork. You will have zero help with this while being held to metrics that are humanly impossible to meet with time constraints in a given week.

Pros

The residents are the pros. I enjoy taking care of them and making them happy.

Cons

Expecting a 5 star hospitality experience with instantaneous response times for every resident. Management does not help when there are staffing shortages. They won’t help answer call bells or assist in the kitchen. Legend wants to run the shift with the bare minimums for staff to resident ratios. Having to be an aide changing soiled briefs to then passing meals in the dining room is insanitary. They want you to do extra work but don’t want to pay overtime. Your shift is for 8 hours minus 30 minutes for an unpaid meal break that you must take. So you never get a 40 hour work week pay, only 37.5.
