Low pay, high expectations - 911 Dispatcher Lexington County Government Employee Review

Best work environment I've ever experienced. Management is top notch and applies objectivity with care and compassion. I have never been so supported nor enjoyed a career as much as my position at LFUCG. The work was diverse and included field work as well as office time. Management trusts staff and does so with no micromanagement. I truly enjoyed my 15 years working here! The Director and Manager are of the highest integrity and treat everyone fairly and with respect. Very kind and approachable. Work-life balance is honored. Management graciously supported my family when I had a serious crisis with my child.

While I heard that compensation has improved, it was lacking during my years there. Other departments with lighter responsibilities had more lucrative salaries.
