Pros

I was at LP sometime ago, but it looks like much of the experience remains the same (if not worse), so I’m leaving a review in hopes that it benefits someone. LP has a lot of great people. I met a lot of fun, smart, hardworking people during my time at LP. At the best of times, I felt supported and heard. That was mostly a result of individuals at the company, rather than the company itself. Work-life balance was decent when I was there. Sure things got crazy during the holidays, but I felt I could always take the time I needed to disconnect. That might not be true for everyone though. Benefits were also pretty decent when compared to other agencies. No conplaints there.

Cons

LP’s biggest con is that management just doesn’t care about their employees. The language they speak is “corpo” which just reeks of inauthenticity. They say one thing but do another, and then gaslight you when you try to call them out on it. Just read their comments to these reviews (gaslighting, deflection). When I was there, leadership consisted of individuals who pretty much propped themselves and their friends up, while creating barriers of advancement for everyone else. They will cry “that’s not true!” but it is. After a while promotions just became a joke, because it was the same people every time. This may be different now, but the fact this was allowed to happen is bad enough. They constantly moved the goal post for people, and created a meaningless tier system that in theory was nice but in practice was poorly executed. Also, every change to the bonus model impacted employee pay negatively (compensation is very bonus heavy, way below what you’ll find at more competitive agencies). They will try and say “oh the AVERAGE compensation is higher” as a counterpoint, but don’t buy into that nonsense. What they say is not a reflection of what the reality is for most people. Standing in a room with Bill Gates might mean the average net worth of that room is in the billions, but that doesn’t mean that average is a reflection of the majority. It’s disingenuous for them to imply otherwise. If you’re a POC, I highly recommend avoiding LP. Just don’t do it. You will not get anywhere. Again, please do ignore the responses they leave on these reviews. It’s performative. DEI seemed like a really big focus at one point, but it’s not genuine. They like the idea and image of diversity, but you will rarely see a POC in a high level position. Opportunities that allow you to shine will often be given to your white (even less experienced) peers. When I saw what LP was turning into, I decided it was time to go (this section isn’t big enough for all the cons that emerged overtime). From the people I have spoken to who are still there, LP is just an empty husk of what it used to be. It’s really a shame. There was a time I didn’t want to work anywhere else. By the time I left, I said I wouldn’t ever consider coming back. LP was once a fantastic place to work, but the LP I knew and got to experience was gutted overtime due to poor decisions made by management.

Logical Position Response

Thank you for your feedback. While we are happy to hear about your early experiences at LP, your comments about authenticity and advancement opportunities are unfortunate as we put significant effort in those areas. Several of the examples you referenced were efforts to improve and better align compensation and have resulted in YoY increases for non-managers on our product teams. Leadership is largely unchanged since the beginning and we are incredibly aware that our people are our most important asset. Thank you again for your feedback and everything you did while at LP.

Pros

- Positive and diverse culture - All the sales help/assistance that you need - Your long term career here will be based on performance not likeability (both positive and negative because I like to be liked, but at the end of the day business is business and you'll have to perform) - You will perhaps have a higher starting salary at other companies, but here you wont be first off of the chopping block. You determine for yourself how valuable you want to be for a company, and they will pay you accordingly. - Work & life balance get better the more successful you get in the role

Cons

- You'll have to be really honest with yourself on what you need to do to get better - If you want the help I mentioned above, you'll have to be self-initiated - Your long-term career here will be based on performance not likeability (both positive and negative, because I like to be liked, but at the end of the day, business is business and you'll have to perform)

Pros

Great team of people on every level, from the training to the teams we are on when we get started- everyone is so supportive and they really make the workday more fun. The training and the amount of resources available really do lay a foundation for success in this role that's hard to beat.

Cons

It's hard to say that there are really any "cons" because this job is entirely what you make of it.
