Pros
Nice benefits and discounts on the the clothes. Since most of the employees were female, the health benefits were afforadable and also catered towards women.Special promotions to earn free clothes. I got to meet the president of the company and talk about what was selling or not selling and the reasons why. I got to interview and hire my own staff as well as train them. The manager meetings were fun and it gave managers a chance to bond together and talk about ways to increase business. The base salary plus commission potential was low and did not feel it fairly compensated for all the work that was done.
Cons
The hours - weekends, nights and holidays required by retail. Also because the number of hours the store was open increased meant that you needed to work more hours as well. At Christmas time, you have no life because all you do is work. Sometimes you would have not personal life. The supervisor was not as supportive as I would have liked. Maybe not all supervisors were like that either. As long as you were making your numbers, she did not offer any advise on how to increase the numbers. Also, when you were not making your numbers, she did not help with advise on how to increase the numbers.
