Pros
The other associates and I got along very well and I would even call them my friends. I got lots of experience talking to customers and learning about fashion along the way.
Cons
Where do I begin? The store manager liked to pick and choose which rules to apply when they suited her and often broke company rules. This caused a very stressful work environment with heavy pressure to sell, sell, sell. If you didn't do well, you had bizarre punishments like having to wear ugly dress pants on certain days. We didn't work on commission but it certainly seemed like it. If your "numbers" weren't great and you were the weakest seller you were moved to freight. In freight, you are scheduled four hours but you only work maybe two because there's only so much to do. However, on certain days I had to run the front of the store by myself while the managers had their meeting for an hour. I never got credit for the sales I did while out there because I wasn't an associate and had to put the sales under the other managers' names.
