Metro One LPSG

Is this your company?

Nowhere close to a "Great American Company", this place is awful and everything that is wrong with America. - Anonymous employee Metro One LPSG Employee Review

Pros

I will start off by saying: very little. This is a job and that's where it ends. If you are homeless or bordering poverty this job will put a little money in your pocket. The interview process is a joke which at first glance probably sounds great to someone in desperate need of a job but bear in mind your fellow employees whom you often rely upon skate through as well.

Cons

Where to begin? Starting from the top, the people in Staten Island who think they are running a respectable company have undoubtedly brainwashed themselves into believing that the prevailing corporate culture (along with its' many ills) in America is the way to go. They are so disconnected from reality it's unbelievable. I would go so far as to say they are likely beyond salvage both as managerial material and human beings in general. Moving on, the regional managers are a joke. Most of them are not management material. They are 20+ year guards who simply promoted their way up because they had been there the longest behind whatever manager above them who likely quit to avoid drowning in the sea of ineptitude. It is unlikely you will ever meet your regional manager and if you do it will be so he/she can punish you for his/her failings such as losing another site under him/her (which you have no involvement in or control over) which can again be attributed to his/her lack of real experience and also his/her lack of presence in the operation. However, in keeping with fairness, the regional managers job is complicated by the fact that Corporate won't let them pay a decent wage or reward hard workers who keep sites running. Their business model is ~10 people/site at 32 hours to fall under the PART TIME flag (regardless of what you were hired for) so that not only is there no overtime but when one of the "gifted underachievers" they hire doesn't show up they have a large pool of people to goad into covering the shift. It's generally acceptable to them to have an entirely new group of 10 every 2 months or so. Congratulations, Jr. Company, just eeking your way through the business world. This is a very condensed relay of an experience analyzing key points, don't take my word for it. If you fell upon this review while researching employment go ahead and give it a shot. In closing, the company ills are plain to anyone involved at the site level but almost paradoxical to management. Metro One is a sinking ship, don't forget your life jacket.

Pros

Consistent hours Not much oversight Not required to get into dangerous situations Work 4 days then get 3 days off which is as good but you work nights

Cons

EXTREMELY BORING no upward movement in the company You work by yourself and aren’t allowed to talk to anyone or sit Late hours, typically 2PM to 11PM so it’s hardly to have a life outside of work. I tried to transfer to a new location when I moved and the manager I worked with tried to get me in contact with the manager in the new location and she has my information and she still hasn’t reached out. I’m now forced to find a different job but I never liked the job anyways. I cried before many shifts because it was that miserable. Good company, bad job.
