Pros
Michael Page International had a large brand recognition that worked for you or against you depending on who you were speaking with. The managers also bought and allowed us to drink alcohol at our desk at the end of the day.
Cons
Recruitment in general is not a 9 to 5 career. However at Michael Page International it was required for recruiters to work from 8am to 7pm everyday except Friday and eat lunch at our desk. If you can’t get your work done in 8 or 9hrs you shouldn’t be in recruitment but this was modern day slavery. Everyone is micro- managed, by managers and KPI’s (key performance indicators) The reason why everyone who works there is under 30 is because they target cheap young college grads. It did provide a harsh reality of what the recruiting industry stands for, and adds to the already tarnished name of a recruiter.
