Pros

Awesome work culture, supportive and positive co-workers, benefits and wellness perks! MB is headed in the right direction with work culture and work/life balance. Yoga balls, beer and laughter here.

Cons

Would love to stay around with Mindbody as an employee longer, however most room for growth is located in San Luis Obispo. The starting pay is good for entry level openings, but with the cost of living where offices are located could be even better, these may be factors in high turnover/loss of talent seen.

Mindbody Response

Thank you for your feedback and I apologize for the delayed response. We are happy you enjoy the environment at MINDBODY in our NY office and all the perks provided to employees. Of course, a great work experience isn't all about perks and we thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns and hopefully open the door to more conversation. Regarding pay, we have hired an experienced compensation manager who works as part of our HR department. They are currently evaluating all positions and our goal is to publish a transparent pay scale for all positions. This will give candidates and employees clearer insight in to the opportunities to increase pay over time. While we and most companies do not compensate on cost of living as it rises and falls throughout the year, we do analyze cost of labor and want to pay a fair wage - again, this is something our compensation manager is helping us understand. Turnover in Customer Service was lower than the company average in 2014, and 20% below industry average for similar positions. While exit interviews haven't indicated that pay as a common cause of departure, we do want to feel confident and for our employees to feel confident that wages are fair and accurate. We promise to improve this area. Finally, I agree that leadership selection is important and that it is a good balance of potential and experience. We gauge potential by looking for demonstrated preparation for leadership opportunity through personal development and learning. We will never hire a leader who has not spent time learning and preparing for leadership first whether through actual direct experience, or through reading, studying and observation. We appreciate your support of MINDBODY and dedication to Customer Service and hope you continue to make a career with us for many more years.

Pros

During my time at Mindbody, I was fortunate to work in an incredibly supportive team environment. The team was collaborative, fostering a positive and productive atmosphere where everyone’s ideas were valued. My managers played a key role in creating this supportive culture. They were not only approachable and encouraging, but also inspiring leaders who gave me the freedom to take initiative and grow within my role. One of the most rewarding aspects of my experience was the creative freedom I was given. I had the opportunity to explore new ideas and approach challenges in innovative ways, which made the work both exciting and fulfilling. This level of trust and autonomy helped me build my confidence, expand my skills, and develop as a professional. Additionally, the work culture at Mindbody emphasized collaboration, making it easy to share ideas and tackle problems togethe

Cons

While my experience at Mindbody was largely positive, there were a few challenges I encountered. One significant issue was the constant turnover in leadership. This frequent change in management created a sense of instability, as new leaders would often come in with different priorities and approaches. As a result, it sometimes felt like no one was on the same page, leading to a lack of direction and clarity. This inconsistency caused a fair amount of disorganization within the company, making it difficult to align on goals and strategies. The shifting leadership dynamics created some challenges in maintaining a consistent workflow and made it harder to build long-term plans. Despite the supportive team environment, this lack of continuity in leadership was a noticeable drawback.
